Don't forget to enter!

If you donated to U.T.E.R.U.S., make sure to let me know by commenting on the below post so I can enter you to win chocolate. (Or if you can't eat chocolate, win...um...vegetables? a hat? Something.) It doesn't matter if I don't know you! Just get out there and donate and then let me know by tomorrow at midnight!

I am way behind in my commenting (damn Google reader. That starring is so convenient. I can read and mark to comment on later and suddenly I have five millllllllion post to comment on.) So if I have neglected to comment it's probably that you are so deep and insightful that I had to sleep on it.

I may also be falling behind coming up because I am once again working for a political campaign (no Kate, it's not presidential, so don't worry, I won't be bringing my incredible powers of persuasion up against your candidate). I had the campaign manager drop by my office today to ask if I could take a job and I start Monday (It'll be evenings only, I'm not quitting my job.) So that is exciting, but it means I'll be back to working stupid hours.

In other news, my mom bought Charlie a raincoat. She really wants a grandbaby.

  1. Aww! Charlie is so darn cute! But you know you can't take him out in public with that on. At least not if A_ is with you. My Roxy isn't even allowed to wear her sparkly studded pink collar with the hub. I can't imagine why...

I just started with Google Reader since I have been hearing so much about it. I may be an addict yet!

  2. Good luck with that... Although- it does take a real man to walk an adorable dog in a cute little outfit- try telling him that! ;o)

  5. Awwww, Charlie in a raincoat! Parents are funny that way. My mom bought our Scout a fancy pink collar so that people would stop calling her "he." It didn't work, but it was a nice gesture.

  6. And it even has a hood on it to protect his 'doo! Okay, that is too cute. Your mom is so funny. :-)

  7. Charlie looks swell in his new raincoat. My mom hasn't met Lucky yet but has already hinted at knitting him a sweater. Hopefully by the time he needs a sweater I will be well pregnant and she will have shifted her attention. Not that he wouldn't look cute in a sweater, but I really don't think he needs one. Maybe when it's 40 below he will.

Good on you for doing political work. There was just a huge scandal here involving the new (evil right wing) provincial government - when they moved out of their opposition caucus offices, they left behind a video tape from 1991 (the year they were last in power) showing a number of prominent people making horrible remarks, one of whom is a federal MP, one of whom is the new premier of the province, and one of whom is the premier's communications director. It almost made me miss politics...but not quite. I'm on a long hiatus, I think. Maybe if there was a candidate I really believed in it would help - I've actually been thinking about getting more involved in municipal politics and the school board - they are a mess here right now and could really use some more progressive voices. We shall see. For the moment, I'd rather play with my dog and continue the baby quest.

  8. Good thing, or else Kate may have given another $10 to the Clinton's fund! :)

  9. Ack. What an adorable raincoat!! Perfect for April Showers.

As for the google star. Yep, right there alongside you. I think I'm still trying to catch up from as far back as Thursday (as hubby peers over my laptop at the local bookstore, cringing as he finds out what I'm doing ...)

  10. charwie in a raincoat... how adorable. Yeah, your mom totally wants a grandbaby!

I'm reading/commenting at the new apple store at the best buy and I'm totally pissed that they opened here this weekend because I JUST ordered a new iMac and am waiting for it to be delivered. I could have just bought it here and used my stinkin' uncle's $100 gift card instead.

And yeah. Look at you workin' on campaigns and stuff. I just give money, and not very much, either. Go, YOU!!!

  11. The raincoat is adorable! I don't know about you, but I've gotten really supersensitive about the parents who want a grandchild. My MIL keeps giving me big bags of kids books for my sister's kid. It's sweet, but it'll stop the moment we actually produce a child. It makes me feel weird.

So is Charlie actually yours yet? Is he officially your weekday foster? Are things still strange and up in the air with him? Prying minds want to know!
