Ladies and gentlemen...

The Charlie is back!!!!

R_ called me around 9:30 tonight and said somebody had turned him in. A little girl found him. She said she didn't want a reward (she can have *anything* she wants) but that she wanted to maybe see him sometimes.
I am so freaking happy. R_ gave him a bath while we drove over. He said I could have him tonight since I will be going out of town tomorrow. My dog is sleeping - he's exhausted from his week-long adventure. Thank you all so very much for your good thoughts - other than being tired, Charlie doesn't seem any worse for the wear.
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted.

  1. YAAAAAAY! I just knew in my heart of hearts that he would find his way home. I'm so frickin' happy! That's the best news I've heard in a long time. YAY FOR THE CHARLIE! WOO HOO!!!!! COOKIES AND WINE (and, um, stomach aches...) ALL AROUND!!! (Well, okay. How about light/low-fat cookies, and just-enough-wine-to-get-the-benefits all around? Does that work, Miss I-Lost-7-Lbs? Did I say it yet? I'm very proud of you for managing to lose weight during a time of so much stress. Woo HOOOOO!!!)

  2. And I'll have you know that I'm an incredible dork who had to figure out exactly what the dimensions of your patio were based on your square footage. It's either 27 x 10, which would be oddly long and narrow (but possible) or 15 x 18. Unless you're a weirdo and you went for 16.432 x 16.432. That's possible, too. But I'm guessing 15 x 18.

I mean, I'm only curious because we're trying to decide on dimensions for our patio. Did you do all of the digging and leveling and limestone-sand-tamping and laying everything all by yourself? If so, you MUST teach me.

  12. How wonderful. I know how distrought you felt and definitely know how good it feels to get a pet back. You must have some lucky vibes tonight. Statistics of finding a pet go way down after 24-48 hours! Now if your work would slow down too!

  23. fanTAStic news!!! I'm so very glad for you and Charlie too. All this week every time I've rubbed on my pups I haven't been able to not think of yours. I wish he could talk so he could tell you about his adventure. After you get done feeding him treats and loving him all over, are you going to ground him for the rest of his life?
