Please God

R_ called me. He had Charlie this weekend and this evening Charlie ran away.

I looked and looked for him but I didn't find him. He has a microchip so I hope somebody found him and will turn him in tomorrow.
I can't stop crying.

  2. Oh no! Hopefully he'll get hungry soon and remember who feeds him and come home. Failing that, I hope someone finds him safe and turns him in.

Last week we found a loose dog in our yard. He had an address on his tag so Mike took him home. His people were so surprised to see him because they had not yet realized he'd escaped. If bringing him home earned us any karma I will send it your way so that you will see Charlie safe, sound and soon. xoxo

  4. Oh no! (And I literally let out a gasp right now...) I hope he finds his way back home. I'll be saying a quick shout-out to St. Francis to look out after him. (Oh yes ... me and St. Francis are close. Well, actually my Mom is tight with the guy... :-P )

Big HUGS to you, Io ...
And yes, please keep us posted!

  5. Oh no! I just want to cry right now, too. I'll send up all the prayers and messages I can to help him get home safely. I know you haven't had him very long, but I know how much I can't imagine my life without my puppy already and it's only been 3 weeks. So I know none of that matters and you just love him and want him to be home safe and sound.

  6. Oh, I"m so sorry! If he's not back in the morning you might want to call some shelters and notify them that you're looking for a dog. Sometimes people call in that they've found a dog but don't bring him over immediately and the shelter can't look at the tag for a few days.

Your dog is adorable and well-cared for, so I'm sure somebody has taken him in temporarily while they look for you.

  9. I am crying for you! I hope he turns up again ASAP, that is just devastating. I agree that calling all the shelters is a great idea, and all the nearby vets as well, putting posters up, acting quickly is important.

Stay safe Charlie, and GO HOME!

  17. Oooh, poor Charlie! Fingers crossed that he finds his way home soon. He seems like a smart little boy--I think he'll be found soon.

  19. They're going to find him soon, I just know it! That microchip is going to work wonders, so it's a good thing R_ had that done. And once Charlie Boy is found we will beat R_ for letting him get lost in the first place.

  21. Oh no! That's so scary... If his chip is with Home Again, they have a fantastic service to send emails to all registered Home Again owners in the area, it makes printable lost posters and they will contact all the local vets and shelters. Most other microchip companies offer similar services. If you don't have the information, the vet who implanted the chip can get you the phone number for the company as well as the microchip number. Good luck, my friend. I hope you find your Charlie soon.

  22. How awful! I hope he comes back home very soon. The microchipping should help as shelters would routinely check for that. I'll be thinking about you.

  24. I am so sorry! Where do you live? Can any of us help look for him?

Microchipping does amazing things. I've read on the microchipping success story website that dogs have been found and returned even years later! (Of course, I hope you get Charlie back today!)
