See food

My show and tell is boringish...

I am terribly lazy. Instead of going out and doing something interesting that I could then come back and blog about, I haven't left the house today. So the most interesting thing that has happened was A making dessert.
Strawberry blintzes - crepes with some cream cheese mixture and strawberries and cool whip, rolled up. Then topped with more strawberries, a drizzle of creme fraiche and a sprinkle of powdered sugar.
My picture is terrible, but believe me, it was the perfect sweet and creamy, but not-too-sweet with a touch of sharpness piece of heaven.

In other news, Charlie has discovered a new trick. He gets down to the ground and shimmies under furniture. He's been getting under the tv and the couch.
The problem of course, is that he is then stuck and can't get out. (Edit: That's his nose on the far right. Please excuse my filthy floor.)
Poor Charlie. Once again, I laughed and took a picture before coming over to help him.

  2. Awww- poor Charlie! My Roxy does that too, except now she's a little too chunky to fit where she used to, I also laugh at her first!

  3. Can I borrow your husband so he can come give mine culinary classes? Yum. Yum. Yum.

I have two cats. The skinney one can slide under furniture and even into a storage room to get away from her fat sister. Funny. I am still so glad you found Charlie.

  4. Oh my those look really yummy! I'm feeling hunger pains just looking at them!

Charlie is so cute - can you bring him with you when you come to Michigan? Could he handle a car ride that long?

  7. Heh. Heh, heh, heh. The CHARLEH is a silly one, isn't he?

And please, please arrange for A_ to teach H to make me food like that. Please? We can drink wine while they work away in the kitchen making yummy things for us. Mmmm.

  8. Recipe, please. Frank is good at making crepes, but what exactly does A put into the cream cheese mixture? Those blintzes sound absolutely heavenly and I must have some now.

Charlie wedging himself under furniture might turn out to be a good thing. The next time you have to get him out, sweep him around your floors a couple of times so he doubles as a dust mop. Two problems solved all at once. Shazam.

  9. I ADORE crepes! The only thing I love more right now is the Charlie... he cracks me up! He must be trying to become a ninja puppy. I think it's your duty to laugh and grab a camera before helping him out :)

  10. I think Charlie makes an awesome show and tell! :) Love that puppy! (And,if it makes you feel any better, I'm too lazy to even join the show and tell extravaganza, even though I think it's awesome!)

A small note on the post before this one-hee on the new name for BRU. Can I use that, as long as I credit the source?

  11. Io, Frank IS originally from Louisiana. You know what my last name is from email, and his mother's extended family name is Cypiran. Frank was born in Bogaloosa and his family is located in the Covington area.

I'll have to get Frank to try out those blintzes!

  14. OMG, I *love* that puppy! I'll have to visit your I-state so I can doggy sit. That is the funniest thing I've seen all day.

  15. God, I love to eat. That looks fabulous.

    Too funny about Charlie.

Speaking of strawberries, and dogs, mine is ridiculous lately. I have about 50 strawberry plants in from last year. My dog has discovered them, and thinks it's a pick-your-own buffet. She now actually responds to the command "get out of the garden."

  16. Charlie is cute! Our dogs like to get under things, but they are too big to fit under most. Now I'm wanting to eat some blintzes. Have any leftovers?

  17. Yummy! Love strawberries with gooey, sweet toppings!
I have a dog that wants to jump on top of everything (no hiding under beds or furniture for him). Maybe he's part cat!
