I have such great friends

You know, on Wednesday I went to writing group (um, we didn't even pretend to pick up paper and pen, but once upon a time many moons ago we used to write) and it was quite fantastic. We ate, we drank, we gossiped. My friends are super and I just don't see them enough.
At the end of the evening one of them apologized (quite needlessly) for talking about her life and not asking abut ours. Then she asked me what was up with me - I said not much and then I said something about my blog friends and how wonderful you all are. And you know what? It's true. You are all wonderful.
And not only are you all wonderful, but I got things in the mail from Kate and Kara!

Kate sent me this naked woman postcard, which is AWESOME except that A forgot to give it to me until today (thanks Kate!):

And Kara sent me a Wee Little Garden Gnome!!!
With a tiny bit o'luck! I need that! And I think that the Gnome is going to travel and spread the luck...

  1. Hilarious! I used to chair a reading group. Where we basically meant to discuss books but ended up doing pretty much what you describe. I'm glad to know it wasn't just my poor leadership that led us astray!

As for your fun gifts? Hooray! Few things are more fun than finding a fun surprise in the mailbox!

  2. I can honestly say that it's a privilege to be your bloggy friend. You are so swell and I remember being so excited when you, one of the cool girls, befriended me when I was just a sprout of a blogger.

And your presents in the mail look so fabulous! A nudie postcard and a gnome - could your day be any better?

The fact you are in a writers group = total coolness.

  4. Ohhh...Io, you too are wonderful. I think I talk about my blogger friends to my friends and family almost daily. Strange how our real life and this community mix sometimes.

Don't ask me why I thought to share this with you...Long ago when I was a blogger virgin, I had my sister following a few of my favorites so she could get the gist of what I was doing online. I never let her read my posts and even asked her to stop reading blogs all together after a few days. Yours was one of my favorites and she still asks about you from time to time. I never thanked you for helping make my very fertile sister more aware.

Kiss that gnome for both of us!

    Love the pics!
Couldn't agree more, in some ways my bloge friends and online support group friends have become so imporant to me I don't know how I'd cope without them.
Some of them so important they're now my in real life friends! :-)

  7. I completely have no clue what I'd do without my blogging-buddies. And you always comment even when I've been MIA...it means so much. <3

LOVE the gifts! I'm sure Mr. W would forget to give me a nudie postcard for a while, too. ;-)
