There is absolutely nothing happening.
Seriously people, my life could not be less bloggable right now.
The most exciting thing that has happened was one of my friends saying that our infertility didn't matter right now because since A didn't have a job we wouldn't want to be trying to have a kid anyways.
Gee, way to make me feel better about not having a kid.
Reminding me that not only can we not have children, afford to *try* to have child or afford a child at a date in time that five months ago I thought we would have enough money to start IVF? Not making me feel better.
I recognize that now wouldn't be the best time to get pregnant, but never fear my fertile friend - we won't be having a whoops! child at an inconvenient time.
Honestly though, I'm really too bored to be all that annoyed by it.
I'll let you know if something else happens beyond the thrill of going next door to eat lunch with the retirees.

Hi hon! Lefty seems to be hurting less, though my whole abdomen seems to be getting into the cramping thing. And yesterday my post-transfer headache arrived, right on time. (Seriously, I should be charting this stuff, because it is identical every cycle.)
ReplyDeleteSo I'm hoping the hyperstimulation is on its way out, and I'm telling myself that all the other pain means I'm pregnant.
Oh, and your "friend" is a complete idiot. It's hard to even get annoyed at such idiocy. Because when you're infertile, poverty is really a blessing, right? (Or is it the other way around?)
People can be clueless, but most probably just don't know any better.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the silver lining sucks as much as the black clouds. I wish I could tell you where to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. (How many pathetic metaphors can I pack into a simple comment? I spare you any more.)
{{hugs}}
Whoops! I just mentally slapped your friend upside the head. I can't get pregnant by accident, but inadvertent acts of violence are pretty easy to come by.
ReplyDeleteHope something awesome and exciting happens for you soon.
When A becomes that high powered attorney and yall are so fucking rich you do 5 ivfs (that all work) and her kids are eating Beanie Weenies then you can tell her to SUCK IT.
ReplyDeleteWay to be comforting, friend! Please--remind me why my life is totally stuck now!
ReplyDeleteBoring sucks. But blog anyway. You're fun to read even when you think you are dull.
You know, I often think about how you deal with your given situation. Not about the no job thing, because that's temporary (and hopefully the IF will be too), but in not even being able to try. I figure it's super frustrating, but then again, you are one I would make a pregnant joke too. Maybe I'm being really lame?
ReplyDeleteIf we all waited until we could "afford" a child, we would never have one. I would have wanted to smack her!
ReplyDeleteWow-- what an utterly clueless statement. Really hoping that she went home and slapped herself later when she realized what she had said.
ReplyDeleteSome people really are stunned aren't they.
ReplyDeleteI hope you find a boredom buster soon!
Wow-is your friend a sensitivity trainer?? Perhaps next week she will tell you that if you could "just relax" about your current situation, you'd be knocked up in a heartbeat?!?! Sigh...speaking of knocking, did you want to belt her one in the kisser? I kind of do. It may not make us pregnant, but it sure would feel good!
ReplyDeletewait..bra? Am I missing something?
ReplyDeleteTell your friend to...well, you know! People have absolutely no idea at all what we go through.
ReplyDeleteRAxx(ICLW)
LOL! I am laughing at the comments by those above me! They are so right. I say DITO to all of them! I wish I had a funny comment to make the fertile friend comments easier to take, but alas, I do not.
ReplyDeleteI am also laughing because even though you think you are too boring to blog, it's still pretty funny. You have a good way of turning a sucky thing into something palatable! (spelling?)
wow. your friend does suck! (at least her comment does anyway- she may be a decent person- except for her IF insensitivity) I agree that the silver lining doesn't feel any better than the downpour. What a shitty 'bright side' to bring up for a friend.
ReplyDeleteI never find you boring...except when you don't post! (I am just as guilty so I really can't talk)
I totally get it. Last week I wrote a really long post all about how badly I had to pee. So yeah, I get it!
ReplyDeleteIt's almost shameful to admit that I have lots of "friends" who would say just that sort of thing. I just never have a witty comeback. My comebacks are witty but usually take a few days which is then too late.
ReplyDeleteComing over from ICLW...
ReplyDeleteI so know how you feel! Sometimes I feel like if we did treatments next year we'd be crazy because DSO starts grad school this year and it would be better to wait. Ha. Not. Hugs sweetie!
Darling, your most boringest day is a hundred times more fascinating than many people's most exciting day. Just 'cuz you're you and you make everything fabulous.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Feel free to accidentally on purpose slap your friend upside the head for me. And then look all innocent and say, "Oops!" and everything!
People are so stupid. I, in fact, did wait until we were all 'jobbed up' and ready to go...and now...NUTTIN'. Meanwhile my sister has had FOUR (count 'em--FOUR) 'Whoopsies'...and I'm sure she'll find a way to make a 5th squeeze past the tubal clamps that were recently placed. Anyways...people are just dumb. That's all.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, what's wrong with boring? It's a nice break every once in awhile!
-*-ICLW-*-
Oh you dear Io, you made me laugh out loud. How very refreshing and much appreciated! We'll show those fuckers.
ReplyDeleteUgh! I don't understand what some people are thinking sometimes - or why they are not thinking at all maybe! iclw
ReplyDeleteIf folks waited to have a baby until they could afford one..no one would get pregnant. I think it's a rule to be poor when you have kids..LOL
ReplyDeleteMy life is equally boring, and for once in my life? I'm happy about it.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your friend is so tactless. People say the most awful things sometimes, and I'm always shocked.
Some people don't get it and never will. Sorry you had to hear that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shitty thing for your friend to say. Damn people suck.
ReplyDeleteGet.away.from.her.
ReplyDeleteOr perhaps you should start educating her on the st*pid things people say that do not help.
