The USA needs to play catch up

How fantastic is this:

Australian lesbians can now have both partners recognized on their children's birth certificates.

Congrats to my Australian friends. I know there is still a long way to go, but it's better than what we have here.

  2. It's great isn't it. Pity they can't adopt in most of our states though. I really hope the laws catch up soon. We have some great friends who are gay and would be amazing Dad's and I hate seeing them blocked by politics.

  3. We are always behind the times when it comes to these things--so sad. I'm glad that other places in the world are more understanding. Here in my hometown in the NW, a lesbian couple couldn't even get their names listed together in the birth announcement in the paper, becuase of some stupid rule that it has to follow what the birth certificate says...

  7. ah, yea. I'm so tired of being embarrassed.

For instance, I am embarrassed that there are so many people wanting to vote for McCain.

    Just sayin'!

  8. That's great for Australia. Now if they can get to the business of legalizing surrogacy, they'll be good to go.
