What?

What? I didn't say anything about doing the dining room floor this weekend, did I? Surely not. That would have been *ridiculous* of me.

Uh, yeah. Haven't touched the floor.

But I did go running this morning!
And by running I mean mostly walking while my friends ran.

Doh. It's a start.
Other than that? Well, the lawn is mowed.

Suddenly I'm not sure how this long weekend got to be so short.

OK, off to Google Reader's five million posts for me to read.

  1. If it makes you feel better, I am positive between mowing the lawn and run/walking that you had more activity than me.

Have I told you lately that your silly posts make me smile?

  2. I was wondering the same thing. How has a three day weekend gone by without getting anything done? I hope the 4 day workweek goes by just as fast!

  3. I'm with you about the shortness of the weekend. It seemed like I had so much more time to get my to-do list done.

If you want to feel good about your floor then come check out my latest post (ignore all the whiny crap and scan to the bottom). My entire house (minus my stairs) looks like the picture. :-O

Yay for mowing the lawn and run/walking!!!

  5. Heh. Yeah, I'm STILL looking at the floors I was gonna refinish almost two years ago now. I recommend rugs. Lots and lots of rugs.

Your lawn being mowed is a sight better than I got this weekend. Of course, the one downside to having both H and I fully immersed in the world of academia is that neither of us got Labor Day off (that seems to be the tradition in this area, which I totally don't get, but whatever), so at least I have the excuse that I didn't have a long weekend to do it in. But, I also don't have the excuse that I'm too busy to do it now (except that I am too busy reading and commenting on blogs...). So there you have it. I have an unmowed lawn AND unfinished floors. So you rock. Awesome.

As for running/mostly walking/whatever, though I am far from expert, I would say that running/mostly walking is a pretty good idea when you're first starting out with the running thing, even if you used to run a lot. I will pass along the recommendation of the 50 billion runners that helped me get started, which is to google "Couch to 5k program" and find a program that seems sensible to you. Of course, you are clever and are probably already following some such advice, but there it is anyhow. And frankly, BIG MASSIVE KUDOS to you for doing it in the morning. I HATE exercising in the morning. I will do it sometimes anyway when that's the only time I can scratch out, but ultimately, I end up hating the world when I have to exercise in the morning.

  6. Flooring is always so annoying... better to go for a wog (a walk/jog) or even mow the dreaded lawn.

  8. Getting out there is half the battle. Sometimes I just get dressed in my workout clothes and sit on the couch. :)

  9. I didn't get anything accomplished, eihter. I rarely accomplish what I say I will, so I just stop making plans. :)

Thank you for the laughs. You crack me the heck up.

Your ED stuff is enjoyable to watch. I'm lovin' it.

  10. Ahh...the floor can wait. Shit, I have projects I've been putting off for YEARS.
BTW, nice boobs in the post below. I like their message. LOL

  11. It was way too short wasn't it?
I am sure you will be watching Palin give her speech tonight. I am SURE of it. You just seem like someone who does their homework. And I can't wait to see the Obama / O'Reilly interview Thursday night. That should be fun.
